When a Texas summer approaches, everyone is looking for a simple solution on how to keep themselves cool. Whether it be a pit stop at the ice cream shop, or a day trip to Schlitterbahn, a Texan truly knows how to have a fun and cool summer! However, if you’re new to the area, or you’ve ran out of ideas, we’re here to give you some inspiration during your planning of another fun-filled summer adventure.

If you’re an advocate for the great outdoors, a camping trip might be something you want to look into. Our suggestion? Garner State Park! Whether you’re spending the day floating down the Alto Frio River, or hiking through the hill country, your day time activities are not limited! On the other hand, night time activities, such as two stepping the night away at the dance pavillion, are not limited either! Whether you’re canoeing across the Alto or tearing up the dance floor, Garner’s got something for everyone.

Texas has no shortage in water parks, whether you will be visiting Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Hawaiian Waterpark in Waco, Six Flag’s Hurricane Harbor in Arlington, Splash Amarillo, or Wet n’ Wild in Houston, there are water parks spread all across Texas, big and small alike! For a fun-filled high speed adventure, this may be what your family needs to have the wild summer they’re craving.

For creative ideas on how to keep cool while also making memories at home, having a water balloon fight in the backyard, or the purchase of a slip n slide might help keep the kids cooled off and entertained all in the same.

Of course, there are also indoor activities that help us Texans keep cool during our blazing hot summers, such as a trip to your local movie theatre or Dairy Queen. Air conditioning is not an item that is typically of shortage in Texas, so where there’s electricity, there will be a/c! The mall, the movies, or any other indoor activity that your family prefers will help keep you cool during summer of 2015!

So whether you decide to take a day trip to a water park, spend a weekend under the stars, or take an evening date out to the movies, there are ways to keep cool during the long months ahead! From May to August, we’ve got you covered!
